The pre-seeds are out now. Rodriguez is #9 at 57 kg, and Zillmer is #2 at 92 kg.

That was a long-arse meeting. I think they overloaded the top side of 125 KG with Bradley, Coon and Steveson. Should be interesting to see how Varner handles Tony Nelson in the QF.

Zillmer should place at his seed and Josh has an excellent opportunity to make a name for himself.

Also, in other news, the Jackrabbits lose Peyton Robb to Nebraska.

Christopher, why is Cox wrestling? He has a bye to the final X series on account of his World Bronze last year.

He had a Bronze last year at 86 KG, but is wrestling up at 92 KG.

Based on his World Cup results, I’m not sure he’s fully ready for the new weight yet. It will be more interesting if he moves up to 97 KG for 2020.

Bison Wrestling Club off to a great start in Junior Freestyle.

Lots of wins and even the losses are impressive. Backup Michael Otomo took Gavin Hoffman (Flo's #5 recruit in the 2018 class) to the wire and lost 10-9.

Brent Fleetwood dropped a 1 point decision to former NCAA champ Darian Cruz too.

I missed the Josh Rodriguez vs Tony Ramos quarterfinal but even Iowa fans are in agreement that the ref gave Ramos 2 shot clock points for no reason. He'll likely have to get by international veteran and #3 seed Frank Perrelli just to place now. Hayden Zillmer rolled to the semifinals.

For current team members, McGwire Midkiff rolled to the quarterfinals and beat a big time recruit out of CA. He'll be a substantial underdog vs Jordan Decateur in his next match.

Bianchi is in the quarterfinals vs Gage Curry of American. He should win.

Jaden Van Maanen has put up an incredible 54 points in just 3 matches and is in the quarter finals. He will take on former Cadet World Champ Jared Verkleeran, who will probably start for Penn State at 149 next year.

Metz is in the quarterfinals and should be favored.

Shearer ran into last years Cadet World Champ in round two.

Franek lost to Austin O'Connor in round two.

Fleetwood has a couple wins in the senior freestyle tourney too.

Biggest takeaway: The redshirts from this past year are performing great at this tournament. Great sign

Jaden Van Maanen up 6-2 after the first period over former cadet World Champ and probably Penn State starter Jared Verkleeran.

Jaden Van Maanen advances to the semi finals with a tech fall of former Cadet World Champ and probable Penn State starter Jared Verkleeren. Incredible day for Jaden!

Paul Bianchi is also into the semi finals after tech falling NCAA qualifier Gage Curry.

McGwire Midkiff put up a good fight and scored 5 points before losing to top 10 Ohio State recruit Jordan Decatur.

    Metz still to come.

Brent Fleetwood still in the senior freestyle tournament with a handful of wins.

    Great performance by the youngsters!

Brent Fleetwood will place in Senior men's freestyle after picking up his 4th win in 5 matches. If he wins 1 more match, he is qualified for the World Team Trials.
