    Payton was in fifth after the qualifying throws.He popped his big throw in the finals to take 3rd. The USA is dominant in the shot, he has a good chance to medal in Tokyo!

    Looks like he edged out 4th place by 0.03 meters which is a little over an inch. What a time to pull out a lifetime best!

    He just threw a 16 lb ball of metal 24 yards...

    Alex Talley made it through the 1st qualifying round in the hammer getting 11th in the prelims (12 guys qualified for the finals). He will have to have a monster effort to break into the top 3 in the finals.

    Also tomorrow, Benji Phillips and Riley Dolezal will be in the javelin prelims. Riley is capable of making it to Tokyo.
