    Thats the most important stat.

They can talk all they want about how good we are etc etc etc. But if there isnt a conference that thinks NDSUs academics makes it a good fit and we dont have the MONEY. All the talk is nothing more than mental masturbation.

    A few more offseason stats:

NDSU finished the 2017 Season as the 30th winningest NCAA team

Of the teams with more wins than NDSU (1894), only Oklahoma (1895) and Florida (1906) began playing football after NDSU. Arkansas and Texas A&M both had the same inaugural season as NDSU.

No team with more wins than NDSU has played fewer games than NDSU. NDSU has played 28 fewer games than any other team in the top 30.

The only FCS teams with more wins than NDSU are the top four Ivy League schools (Yale (#2), Harvard (#10), Penn (#11), and Princeton(#14)). Dartmoth (#34(T)), Cornell (#64), and Brown (#74) also appear in the top 100. Columbia isn't even close with 373 wins and a .376 overall win percentage.

Pretty amazing - especially considering that if you look at just schools who are DI now

    End of 2009 season
UNI was #49 with 607 wins
    NDSU was #50 with 604
    UND was #51 with 603

    End of 2017 season
NDSU was #28 with 710 wins
UNI was #45 with 667 wins
    UND was #52 with 646

NDSU has more wins this decade than UNI and UND combined.
Or, if you prefer, NDSU has more wins the SDSU and USD combined too (this decade)

Mountain West TV money and College Football Playoff money & Big Dance money (Nevada this year) = $10 Million more easily. puts NDSU at $28 mil same at Wyoming. plus bigger sponsorships, Student Fees (they pay next to nothing right now) it can easily be done.

the Stagnation is here, the Plateau is here. what else is there to accomplish at this level?? what happened to "Bring on the Competition?"

i know you all hate when a few of us scream it out loud, hell Mike Mcfooly wrote an article about mountain west specifically to address me which is flattering and tells me that my voice is being heard.

NDSU needs to Call & solicit them. Hell EMU just had to cut Millions and may drop football, does that open up a MAC spot for NDSU?

I was just replying to squash the LIE that it's "$100 million more" thats hilarious. move this to FBS thread, that's cool.

But in last year or 2, I've seen Apathy in NDSU fanbase... all of the D1 Movement guys are in the 40's, 50's now like most of us year, the young'in's aren't excited about fcs , they've been there, done that. We need some BUZZ & excitement at NDSU for this university to grow.

    Sorry.

For some interesting information check out the Knight commision

Couple pulled tidbits in 2015 NDSU spent ~$53,000 per student athlete.
by comparison MAC conference on average spent ~$63,000 and MWC spent ~$90,000
FWIW the U of Texas spent $307,000 per athlete

NDSU would need to increase spending $10,000-30,000 to be average in terms of $$ if moving up. Considering that the bottom half of FCS schools allocate more money to football %-wise than the top half and FCS, they cut other athletics programs and wind up around 500 student athletes. So spending on athletics would need to increase $5m-15m per year. But that does not include any upgrades or new facilities that would be needed before moving (indoor practice facility comes to mind).
