    Default NCAA Wildcards

Wildcards will be released tomorrow. Typically NCAA Wrestling releases participants by bracket every 30 minutes starting around noon.

We'll have the full brackets March 7th.

I think Gliva SHOULD get in. I actually think he gets screwed though and won't quite make it. At 149, it should be: Oliver (lock), Sprague, Gliva, Olivas, Amine, and Davion Jeffries. I think Olivas is a lock, simply because he is from Fresno State. The challenging aspect will be getting 3 B12 guys at large bids. I imagine the East Coast bias may get Gary Dinmore or someone similar in over Gliva.

As for Big Dan, he has a shot. Gunning, Harrington, and Dempsey seem like sure bets. Solomon does too, but he suffered what sounds like a fairly nasty concussion. If he is out, Big Dan may grab the final spot in the field. He desreves it over Rylee Streifel, who is next up for the B1G. If Solomon is out, I think it comes down to Big Dan and and Matt Voss of George Mason. I think it would go to Voss. Overall, I think Dan has about a 20% chance to get in.

I also think Oliver, Sprague, Olivas, Amine, and Jeffries will get in. Olivas comes out ahead of Gliva in coaches panel, RPI, quality wins, and they are the same in conference placement. For the final spot, I suspect it might go to Hunter Ladnier. Gliva was better in the coaches poll and RPI, but Ladnier was better in quality wins and he finished just one spot out in the EIWA. I hope the committee proves me wrong.

No dice. It's best not to leave it up to the committee.

I'm struggling a bit to see how Ortz got in over Gliva, particularly with the weights that Gladiator Dad showed.

However, I really can't understand how Norstrem got in at 125. He has a losing record, only one 'quality' win, and has 3 wins in his last 13 matches. What am I missing?

I think Kyle deserved to get in, but I'm more upset Harrington didn't get in at HWT.

He's 22-13 at HWT, took 4th in the B12 which is waaaaaaay tougher at HWT than the EWL, has 2 quality wins, and wrestled a tough schedule.

Voss, 23-10, 3rd in a worse conference, 0 wins over qualifiers, schedule easier than Harrington's.
