In 2007 we beat Minny and Central Mich. The same CM that won the MAC. Doesn't matter that we were in the GWFC, we would have mopped up any conference in the nation, including the Missouri Valley.

2006 team was much better defensively. 2007 defense wasnt that impressive by our standards. Better offense though

2007 seemed to be losing steam at the end of the season. It took last second heroics to beat Cal Poly. Then the magic ran out the following week. Rohl wasn't at 100%. The playoffs would have been tough to get through.

App State won their 2nd & 3rd national championships those years. We had a good team but I think our lack of depth would have eventually caught up to us.

I think that is well put...our starters when healthy were championship caliber, but we didn't have deep roster strength until the 2010's.

Way-too-early 2019 NFL mock draft - Stick projected in first round

    32. New England Patriots: Easton Stick, QB, North Dakota State

New England had two first-round picks and failed to address the elephant in the room. Tom Brady is in his 40's, and as late as a week before the draft there was whispers that he was thinking about retirement. Stick was Carson Wentz's replacement at NDSU and has been an incredibly productive player.

Man, think about the QBs not on that list: Mike Bentson, Kevin Feeney, Arden Beachy,
