One day camps are necessary; otherwise the asst. coaches miss too many shifts at the convenience store..........don't get into trouble with management.

In 1999, I co-starred in "Fatman & Throbbin'" with a voluptuous vixen named Ultra Violet.

Why do we always need a coach in waiting? We are NDSU. We have become a national brand during this run. You don't think the list would be impressive based on Fargo, location, what we pay, cost of attendance, facilities, history, tradition? I bet you the list of people wanting their first head coaching job would be impressive. Least of my concerns anyway. Currently thrilled we have not lost a coach, but if we do, we are ready to reload just like last time or the time before.
Leave your business in better shape when you started and hire and train your replacement. That being said we have many coaches on staff who are qualified to be the next head coach. Not everyone wants to be the head coach either. Money is a huge upgrade but talk about some big-time stress and time

I agree, I also feel that it is important to train the replacement to establish a type of continuity but perhaps even more so with the defensive Coach?

Maybe it is just me but the difference between 2009 and 2010 shows how the right assistant defensive coach can turn things around just as much as a Head Coach?
In my opinion keeping our defensive coordinator would be enormous if Coach K left.
    Just a thought.

Who decides who the coach in waiting will be? How will the other coaches look at that when they know they dont have a shot?
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

Under the category of next year's games, North Alabama's DC left for a sales position.

Of course a lot depends if coach K left by himself (would hate that) or if he pulled a Bohl (would hate that more).

Can't really engage this to much since it is all imagination, but we saw how it worked keeping the DC at the helm.

    Worked rather well. .. imo

It didn't work well because he was a DC, it worked because of Chris Klieman. End of story.
