If a kid verbals and then makes an official visit to another school the next day, it tells you something. Also, if a kid commits to a school and then gets a dream offer that they didn't expect, a re-evaluation is understandable.
Kids are getting smarter in this process. Schools tell a kid---if # 1 doesnt sign with us then youre it. Or we may have a schollie available but right now we dont---So hang with us. Now kids are saying hey Ill come with you guys unless FBS comes calling. It works both ways.
Plus you have the issue of partial scholarship money to negotiate vs what somebody else offers.
