NDSU lost to Purdue on Friday by dropping 8 of 10 matches. Gliva and Ream were the only ones to get wins. A bunch of guys went to the North Country open, including CMU transfer/NDSU redshirt Brent Flleetwood. Fleetwood, Jaden VanMaanen, Taylor Nein, and Michael Otomo all took first. Sawyer Degen took 2nd dropped his championship match as well. Unfortunately, Metz had a pretty head scratching loss to St Cloud State's backup true freshman heavyweight (who was very good in high school). Jesse Schearer forfeigted out after his first match too.

Today, the starters take on Northern Illinois in a dual. This is a dual they should win handily. Paul Bianchi has a big match vs Brock Hudkins, who was ranked #19 in the initial coaches panel rankings. It'd be great if he could win the final 4 duals of the year with quality wins over Hudkins, Decessare, and Brown and secure another AQ spot for the B12. Outside of that match, we won't be favored in every match, but we could win each match, as Northern Illinois is pretty down and only features a few solid guys. Quinton Rosser at 174 is probably their safest bet for a win.

Ream vs McWhirter now. McWhirter was really solid last year. He had several really quality wins and briefly made the top 20.

Clay down 2-0 after 1 and McWhirter has 2+ mins of RT.

Clay couldn't finish a nice single off the whistle. Then McWhirter caught him completely flat footed and rode really tough
