If you are watching this game how do you blame these kids for leaving if they have the chance?

Cox did start but he is in the Spear position not OLB. It appears to my untrained eye WV plays a 3-3-5 and Cox can drop into something that appears to be an OLB position but in other formations he lines up more in a safety type position. Probably a good hybrid position for him given his speed and quickness.
Jasir just declared for the NFL Draft
Projected 5th-6th rounder
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
Jasir would have benefited more from being a leader and showing the NFL he can help rally the troops. Learning another system makes you another project. Jasir could have had a season to remember as a Bison. Good executives/coaches are interested in who can take over when the chips are down.
Respectfully, I think coaches also want to see FCS talent play against top level competition and succeed more than they want leaders. If you don't have the certifiable talent then the leadership likely doesn't matter. Jasir's move to an FBS team at the very worst was a sidestep. He played FBS so he was able to check that box for himself and the NFL scouts while at the same time maintained, or more likely improved, his draft stock. He was always going to be an NFL tweener, this just removed one more doubt hurdle on his journey.

NDSU Should Claim Jasir Cox when he is Drafted...
WVU Spear Jasir Cox has been hearing form multiple teams lately, including the #Chiefs, #Dolphins, #Chargers, #Raiders, #Steelers, and #Jaguars, per source.
These teams have remained in contact with Cox either through phone calls or text.
The #Chiefs worked out Jasir Cox on April 7th and interviewed him afterwards, stating that they liked his mobility and ability to play both S and LB, per source, and remain the most interested in Cox.
Cox recorded 62 total tackles, 6 TFL, .5 Sack, 2 FR, 1 QB hit, and 3 PDs in 12 games played in 2022.

He is a great player dont get me wrong, but I think he may be a practice squad player or playing in Canada for Toronto Argonauts. My baseline is Nic Deluca who won a bunch of awards at FCS level and was 6.3 , 250lbs and went UDFA in his draft class, I dont see Jasir getting drafted. He is a great player.
