She is -2 now, one under for today so far, with the prime for the picking back nine still to play. She needs to throw it into beast mode as that is exactly what a lot the players like Nordqvist and Yang who started on the back 9 have done with eagles and birdies on all of the par 5s and more birdies on top of that on the rest of the holes.

Amy double bogied her 2nd hole but battled back with 4 birdies to get to 3 under. She bogied 16 and 17 and ended up 1 under for 2 rounds. Projected cut is 2 under but there are a few more golfers to finish.

Looks like 2 or maybe even three under when all said and done dufferole. Amy needs to do a lot better on the easy tracks to go along with her excellent ability to focus and grind for pars on the tough ones. Not sure what it is, but it all seems to be a process and Stockton is known for scoring and putting, so he should be the right coach for now probably. And she won't be the first by far to methodically work her way to being at the top in the LPGA. She has the smile and likability and easy going nature of Lydia Ko, but seems to be more like Suzanne Pettersen in the steady track she is taking to break through at this ultimate level, showing both glimpses and longer streaks of it this year. Henderson had 26 and 24 putts to Amy's 29 and 30, along with out-driving her by 20-30 yards. More of the same great things Amy has done this year and prior, along with more consistent putting and aggressiveness on easy holes should narrow and eliminate the gap.

Yes, if good golf could be bottled, I would buy me some. Hopefully she is in a temporary lull.

She's gonna be all right dufferole....just a matter of a bit more hard work and a little more time in grade. Some of her stats are especially trending well! She’s had a great year regardless of what happens from here, but I’m sure she is not satisfied and that her goals include even greater heights.

Best season yet. 60th on the money list right now. Top 75 exempt to US Open. On the bubble for the HSBC World in Singapore next March. A solid cash in one of these last two before the Asia swing would be great on that front. Should have an opportunity to play the season end Asia events in a substantial way for the first time.

56th CME Globe points. Looking good for season end championship, top 72 get in.

Exempt to ANA via her top 10 finish.

Amy started with a bogie and then had 5 birdies to finish her 1st round at 4 under par at the Cambria Portland Classic. Way to go, Amy!
