Fish flavored Jell-O? How could you even come up with that unless you tried some? I guess, maybe, if your tanked & washing each spoonful down with a shot of bad Bourbon!

Lutefisk is a dried cod fish that has been cured with lye and salt. It is rinsed to get the lye out and to reconstitute it, but the result is a gelatinous substance that looks a bit like fish but has a serious texture problem. Nasty, nasty, nasty! Like I said, fish-flavored jell-o with a bad smell to boot.
Bad bourbon might make it edible...second thought, that would just be two simultaneously bad experiences.

Why would you do that to a white fish when you could beer batter & fry it.

Lye, It sounds like it could stay on the counter for a year without refrigeration.

Bison is a very lean meet. I think if it were smoked it would turn out like jerky.
