Since it's only 40 years old and we have asserted ourselves in the last 1/4 of it. We're on that list. No other teams have met the criteria, however undefined.

How about we just say the top 7 teams annually in the Mo Valley plus James Madison get into an 8 team bracket and we actually play football. Seed them 1-8. Everyone else can go play in the participation bowl in front of nobody, which would be normal. We are fortunate this part of the country cares. We still tackle.

No purple there, the FBS games speak for themselves. Nobody else in the history of FCS has done what NDSU has done. JMU has finally matched that level of play. I hope they stay FCS, we need to keep teams like them.
I wonder what this means in the long run.... If you have 1-3 programs that appear to be heads and tails above the others especially in terms of resources (IE cost of attendance), will the entire FCS make some changes?
The weather in Fargo keeps the undesirables out.....

...Which is why I live near the Twin Cities.

When the dominos fall and the CFP expands the P5 will not want to share with the G5 once they see how much money they will make, im glad we are sitting where we are

What about Weber? They were the only team to scare JMU this year in the playoffs. That game has aged quite well.

Obviously that doesn't count because the weather was crap, the balls were hard, and the conference was fluffy. How long have you been here?

Good point. They were in that game to win it. Better team than I anticipated and they actually cared about defense which was nice to see.

So top 6 in Valley, plus Weber State and JMU. Play ball.

Delaware would have to be up there. Was so excited when we signed the home-and-home with them.

Sam Houston stopped being elite the moment Keeler stepped onto campus. He has run that ship aground. Yes they still make playoffs in that easy conference and sometimes manage to end up with the perfect early round playoff match ups for them leading up to their eventual getting drop kicked by a real team. They definitely are not elite anymore though

pretty hard to leave out a team with this resume

    Southland Champs - 2001,2004,2011,2012,2014,2016

    Playoff Rounds

    2001 - QTR
    2004 - Semis
    2011 - Finals
    2012 - Finals
    2013 - 2nd round
    2014 - Semis
    2015 - Semis
    2016 - Qtrs
    2017 - Semis

Thats a record many would die for including CAA, MVFC, BSC, SoCON teams
