Anish Shrof says JMU is the favorite in this game. It will be fun to see NDSU try to overcome the undefeated and defending champion Dukes.

A little lite reading before the FBS semis today,
Not sure if already posted - articles by Greg Madia, the JMU beat writer.

The Dukes proved they’re deepest perhaps on the offensive line as the unit has been pushed to use everyone at the position that was on the two-deep to start the year......

......With the shuffling JMU has done on its front, it’s possible two freshmen start the title game, with redshirt freshman Zaire Bethea filling Bolden’s left guard position and true freshman Liam Fornadel getting the nod at right guard as senior Nick Edwards slides to right tackle.

After the Dukes knocked off South Dakota State, Houston said both Bethea and Fornadel were up to the challenge against the Jackrabbits.

“Liam and Zaire were outstanding,” Houston said. “[Left tackle Aaron] Stinnie, Nick [Edwards] and [center] Mac Patrick were as well, but they’re older players, are experienced and have been there, but those two freshmen played really well.”
    LT Aaron Stinnie - SR - 6’ 5” 309
    LG Zaire Bethea - RFR - 6’ 3” 300
    C Mac Patrick - Soph - 6’ 2” 295
    RG Liam Fornadel - FR - 6’ 4” 309
    RT Nick Edwards - SR - 6’ 4” 287

“There is starting to become a little bit of a rivalry between the two schools,” second-year JMU coach Mike Houston said Thursday during a teleconference with both Lonestar State-bound coaches.

Should be interesting to see what we learn on our injured players. Maybe we won’t learn anything at all, from what we know in the past, he didn’t tip his hat with Carson at all.

Until now, it was always get away from the Valley and it gets a lot easier. Go figure the toughest NC was ISUr. JMU has done a great job of showing there is football outside the MVFC, again. Over the last two seasons, they have beaten Valley teams to win one and get to Frisco again. That, in itself, is a pretty good accomplishment. On Saturday, we will get to see how the two best programs in FCS fare against each other. Different than other years when NDSU/GSU was the premier game or last year's semi because JMU and NDSU were in the same bracket. 3 of the championship games were all about showing up even though JSU was supposed to be stacked. The first SHSU and the ISUr game were quality opponents. I have the same feeling going into this game. Both of those teams was all about how they were stacked with FBS transfers. Its like deja vu all over again.

JMU is under tremendous pressure in this game. Repeating as champs is incredibly difficult.

Streamer conversations with Duke fans are fascinating. They start by purposefully mischaracterizing the reasons why the NCAA decided to ban them. Next they deny the actual valid reasons for the ban are ever done by their fans. Then they excuse or continue to deny evidence that shows their fans doing those exact things. Finally they make thinly veiled threats to throw streamers at your head.

When this game is over, I predict they'll all be pissed but streamers won't be on their mind at all.

Don't forget they've been there once against an overmatched opponent, YSU was on a freeroll last year in the playoffs and it paid off until it didn't. I was just watching the Iowa game again. This team at full strength can go toe to toe with a top 25 FBS team. JMU beat ECU this year, THAT was their test. They think SDSU was the MVFC 2nd best team this year. I think they like this game on paper but they aren't going to like it on the field.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
