I would think the tickets would be immediately snapped up because they are available. One of the complaints is tickets aren't available. Yet today tickets are available. So what is the real demand? Just a hypothetical question. If ticket demand is 25k per game, but only 18-19k are sold when tickets are available. That would tell me the demand. I don't see why it makes a difference if regular season or playoff. Weather can impact yes.
Another part of it is there is a subset of fan who has stopped trying to get tickets - because its 'always impossible'.
The reality is for any given game at the Fargodome someone probably has a ticket they're willing to part with, if you can find them and meet their price.
It's just the reality. I don't know if it's the short turnaround time, the proximity to the holidays, or something else. But even NFL teams struggle to sell out playoff games: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-n...old-out-2014-1
High school winter sports are in full swing: basketball, wrestling and hockey. Lots of holiday tournaments around the area. Also youth basketball and hockey are in full swing. I know a few families that found people to sit in their seats because of these reasons.
