Yes it is, which is the exact breed they use for their mascot.

I owned one as a kid. Fun dogs until you're trying to go for a run and they think it's time to tackle you by biting your ankles.

The fun thing about the playoffs (pre-Frisco) is that as the team advances, fans come out of their shell. People start embellishing their wardrobe. You see things that you wouldn't see on people during a regular season. The buzz in the crowd builds. You especially feel it in a semi-final game, before the game even starts. A group starts clapping and cheering and soon it spreads to the entire crowd. Then someone starts "Let's Go Bison" and soon the entire crowd is saying it (and saying it out of sync). Players in the locker room hear all the commotion and probably can't wait to get out and start hitting. You see more signs. More creativity. To me, it is by far the best game of the year. Nothing comes close. You literally get goose bumps at the start of the game and a stomach ache throughout the game if it is a hard hitting --- who knows who will win --- type of game. I remember walking out of the Georgia Southern game exhausted, just because of how you make yourself such a part of the game and the will to win.

I felt exactly the same after that GA Southern game. The close SDSU game and maybe the UNI playoff game as well were similar.
The playoffs always seem to bring a bit more excitement.
It’s always nice to watch the excitement and overall relief of the crowd when it becomes obvious that the Bison have the win in a semifinal game. Usually late 3rd QTR or early 4th. That GA Southern one almost killed me.

True, but were you at last week's San Diego game? They included Brock's QB keeper TD from the GA Southern game in the pregame video, but only the part where he entered the end zone and knelt down. Even with that brief clip, true Bison fans knew exactly what it was from. Looking back: wow, what an awesome night that was!
