Homer, Alaska must have something special in their water. Not be too disrespectful, but the wrestler I mention earlier, was pretty gifted in the what you just mentioned. Plus, she could play guitar too, but not nearly the singer as Jewel.

Little fun fact about Jewel and wrestling - she used to babysit one of our first Women Olympic athletes, Tela O'Donnell, when she was a kid living in Homer, Alaska.

Not sure about that, but her former husband tried to ride bulls for a living, which is one the craziest sports in my opinion.

I kinda grew up in that circle my great uncle is Loyd Ketchum also have more than a few high school buddies go into it. none of them were crazy, it was more just that rodeo was the thing to do where we lived :-)

Bull riding requires a big set of kahunas. Being that bulls are naturally pissed off to begin with, how anyone would decide to throw a strap around its gait and try riding one had to have been a pure liquor-infused decision when the sport first began.

I hear a lot of people talk about wrestling being the toughest sport, I would concede that title to bull riding.

Funny thing, we all wrestled. FYI the horses are harder to stay on than the bull. Speaking of wrestling its time for my kids to get involved. The Tech Team Wrestling Club at the bottom of my previous post should be great. I don't know much about any of the clubs in Fargo, but this one is ran by quite a few good coaches, including Ryan Kringlie, who wrestled for Oregon State (along with my boss, Les Gutches) and finished up at NDSU before neck injury (if I remember correctly) ended his career before could wrestle a match for us. I believe this club is the feeder program that has made West Fargo and National Powerhouse in wrestling.
