"I think the committee values strength of schedule," said committee chair Richard Johnson, who praised the CAA and the Missouri Valley, considered the two leading FCS conferences.

You think the committee values SOS or does the committee actually value SOS? Time will tell

They will. That's why 11-0 SHSU was a #5 seed last year despite railroading every sorry team on their schedule (and being ranked #1 in both garbage polls).

The way the committee handles NDSU, SDSU, UCA, JSU, and SHSU (assuming all win this weekend) will be very interesting. Here's to hoping NDSU gets the 2 or 3 and SDSU gets the 4 or 5.

I thought Nicholls' loss helps SDSU in an indirect way more than most people realize. That was the only potential playoff team that SHSU has a win over. Now they need to hope that wins over Nicholls and Richmond are good enough to offset the SOS and quality win advantage that SDSU has. SDSU has two FCS losses but I think they should be seeded #5 in front of SHSU. We'll see.

That doesn’t really address the question of how Haley got the idea there was a rule that seeded conference mates had to be on opposite sides of the bracket.

Anyone else notice this guy's name is Dick Johnson?

    No? I'll let myself out.

PS - Number 2 seed coming our way.

Isn't that what happened last year, with YSU being the lowest seed?
