Hard not to root for them. Fun to watch and their success will be huge for the MVC. But I’d be much more ‘on-board’ with one of the MVC publics, since this just solidifies adding more non-FB privates in the future.

To win it all? They haven’t really faced a hot high seed yet …

I miss the NCAA college basketball tournament already. That was 3 weeks of pure basketball joy, a lot of great games and drama. Congratulations to Villanova on the title!

#Gophers should go after this grad transfer. Averaged 18.7 ppg 3.1 apg for Coyotes as a junior. Could be another Akeem Springs. Mooney 6-3, 210 guard from Illinois.

    Matt Mooney will have choices......

Right now the list of schools that we have put together is not a group that has all contacted Matt yet, but they are a list of schools that have shown some type of interest. Those schools are: Florida, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Creighton, Utah State, Arizona State, San Diego State, SMU, Northwestern, Ohio State, and several others. Matt is expected to be one of the most heavily recruited graduate transfers on the market.

The Gophers just lost a Freshman guard who is leaving. 3 available scholarships now. Mooney could be a good combo guard for them and fill a short term need.

Arizona State’s Bobby Hurley will meet with Matt Mooney today, source told ESPN. Mooney might wind up being the most coveted available grad transfer.

Texas Tech to hire Minnesota’s Head Coach, Marlene Stollings.
SDSU’s Coach among those mentioned as possible Gopher candidates for their next women’s head coach by the StarTribune.
(After a discussion of if Minnesota Lynx Lindsay Whalen would take the job)

Other possible names to watch include South Dakota State coach Aaron Johnston, Notre Dame assistant coach Niele Ivey and Gophers assistant Nikki Lowry-Dawkins.
Gophers were 24-9, 11-5 Big 10. Lost to Oregon in the 2nd round of the NCAA’s.
