Polls are very reactionary. You line up all the 1 loss teams with their resume' and NDSU is the strongest. If we win out we are fine. A 10-1 team being the outright conference champ in the best FCS conference will be a top 2 seed.

again...why does a 15 pt underdog to ndsu show up in front of ndsu in the polls?

just because they lost earlier in the season?

Start winning games like we should and we don’t have to worry about polls. Pretty simple. Simply stated, we haven’t won games in Valley play the way we should and lost to a team we shouldn’t have. THAT matters, believe it or not. We are giving voters reasons to move us down. Pretty simple, and bitching about it doesn’t solve/help anything.

Yes, if we just win all our games everything takes care of itself. No, maybe bitching about it doesn’t change the fact that folks can’t seem to grasp that the MVFC is miles better than every other conference in the FCS. But, what else are we going to do? Move to the Big Sky?

The MVFC should have 7 teams in the playoff and 6 of them sitting on the couch the first weekend. The conference is so good right now the National tournament aught to be the MVFC Invitational.

You're looking at it in a vacuum. Go look at JSU, UCA, or SHSU's average margin of victory. It's significantly less than NDSU and all three of their SOS is significantly lower than NDSU as well. Not saying the Bison shouldn't have beat SDSU but you're holding them to a higher standard than the teams around them.

I'm ok with the polls overreacting a bit to NDSU's loss because if the performance against SDSU continues they're right to drop them but the problem is the STATS and Coaches polls will not move NDSU up again unless the teams in front of them now lose and JSU, UCA, and SHSU ain't losing again until the playoffs with the cupcakes they have left. But a 10-1 NDSU with the outright MVFC title absolutely should be seeded in front of 10-1 JSU/UCA/SHSU.

Disagree. Two decisive wins going forward will move us back up. The question is whether we can. That’s what voters are questioning right now, as am I.

It may move them up in the selection committee rankings but I'd all but guarantee it won't move them up in the STATS or Coaches poll. Of course the selection committee rankings are all that really matters.
