I don't see any team, including NDSU, getting through the grind unscathed. I think our loss comes either @YSU or @SDSU. Even if we get those wins, the MVC is too strong this season for me to see anyone run the table. Thinking we share a conference title again this season, but ride a #1 or #2 seed into the playoffs, depending on how JMU's season fairs (should roll through the CAA).
Have you seen JMU's schedule? How many ranked teams do they play...

They will go undefeated into the playoffs.

The CAA is still a big unknown for me. Outside of JMU it looks like there's some good teams but no other great teams. To start the year it seemed like Nova, Richmond, and UNH would be able to at least challenge JMU and then all those teams lost to someone they had no business losing to. Now, because of those upsets, there's teams like Albany and Elon that have snuck into the rankings also.

Although I have a feeling, and maybe it's just wishful thinking, that JMU will slip up and lose a game this year just based on the fact that they've got a target on their backs like they've never had before. Hell, Maine hung right with them last week and they're about 8th in the CAA if you look at most rankings this week.

Maine seems like their kryptonite for whatever reason they cause JMU problems.

They've already beat Maine this year.

Edit: Nevermind... read the post above yours.

It would surprise me if JMU didn't go undefeated in the regular season this year.

Here's an interesting conundrum that really got JMU/CAA fans' panties in a bunch over on AGS. Say one of the currently undefeated MVFC teams (NDSU, SDSU, WIU, USD, or Illinois St) runs the table in the MVFC and also finishes 11-0 along with JMU. Who is the #1 seed?

It's pretty tough for you to bump back an undefeated defending national champion but if they solely look at this year (which is all they're supposed to do) it would be just as hard to bump down a team that ran the table in the MVFC this year.

You could imagine what side of that argument the CAA/JMU fans were on but they refused to even admit that it would be a legit question/debate. I absolutely think it would.

Kind of depends on how it shakes out but the #1 seed should theoretically get the easier bracket.

True, but if they really are the #1 team either side of the bracket shouldn’t be an issue

Haha, well rankings don't matter either but it sure seems to get people up into a tizzy. I get your point though.

I agree with you on this. IF someone were able to run the table in the MVC, then that team would have run through a much more difficult schedule and the splits on first place votes would be interesting. I think the computers would put the undefeated MVC winner ahead of JMU, but not sure if the voters would. It will be interesting to see. Definitely looking forward to the SDSU/YSU game this weekend after we watch the Bison put a beating on the Bears.
