A MAC team has hosted Gameday once since 2003.
The Mountain West has hosted twice in that same time period - and one of those was Army at Air Force (they love going to service academies.)

On the face of it, your claim seems dubious, and NDSU needs to have a solid rationale for going FBS, not a fantasy-based one that might as well involve unicorns crapping gold nuggets.

Tony.. because Gameday came to Fargo for the feel good story.... NDSU succeeding at the FBS level is a feel good story & I think many of NDSU fanbase are too modest in not believing just how BIG NDSU COULD BE.. they can't even fathom it, let alone dream it.
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

The success rate of getting the little man-child to think rational is about the same as getting a mole to see.
    Hail the BISON!!!

Now if it was #12 ndsu hosting *insert ranked team here * with implications on the college football playoff...that would garner some interest on them returning to Fargo.

For now...theyve been here twice for incarnate word and Delaware st. That doesn't scream ratings

And there's probably 5+ better fbs options late in the season than if #1jmu played #2 ndsu
Logically that makes sense if it were not for ESPN's producers suggesting the Fargo visits are/were one their most viewed episodes

96% of College Gameday viewers don't give a shit about the G5 either.

I agree that NDSU is a great story, but the reasons NDSU is a great story are that the Bison win championships and consistently get the KO when taking on heavyweights as a middleweight.

Championships won't exist as an FBS school and an FCS beating a P5 is a bigger story than a G5 beating a P5.

If NDSU goes FBS, getting Gameday to come more often can't be part of the rationale because it's a fantasy.

Who knows, but I very much doubt they will be back. We are kind of old news at this point, like Boise St. is old news. Not even sure a couple more titles in a row would get them back.

Lets win them and put the pressure on them to come back.
