For a true Freshman, that is expected. Add in that he’s playing in a Super Bowl environment, his nerves are holding up pretty good. He’ll probably be a #1 pick after his Junior year.

Oddly enough, that's what people probably thought about the dude whose job he took over in week 1(via injury). They got another premier QB coming in this spring too. Dogs are loaded at the QB position.

The new guy can benefit by taking a redshirt next season and then having two years at the hm before leaving early too.

How well do those who transfer have success, let alone at the NFL level?

That lack of desire to compete would be a bit of a red flag for me unless it was proven that the individual transferring wasn’t going to get a fair shot to begin with.
