Yes there backup QB's are awful not sure anyone will be able to turn this around quickly. Kstate is a development program and was crushed by the lost year of COVID. Not to mention the players would rather protest than play football so there is a serious locker room issue and culture that will take years to fix.
Tyler Roehl is available Chris!!
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
Still don't understand the comments about all the awful things they need to fix. They had a decent year. The sky is not falling
There is some talk of Polasek for their new OC.

“I really thought you had to run the football to control the game,” Erhardt once said. “You had to throw the football to score but had to run the football to win.” - Ron Erhardt
Unsure of how much this matters, but I listen to a number of national CFB podcasts, like the main one from the Athletic and Associate Press, and both think Klieman is doing a great job fwiw.
I havent heard a lick of "hot seat" talk concerning Klieman, anywhere but here
1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
3. It's time to go FBS
Really odd he cut Messingham loose. There offense wasn't terrible when they had their good QB. Wonder if there was some pressure applied by someone to make a change.
Their fan base has been calling for Messingham to be gone for awhile and the Texas game was the final straw. The problem is that Skylar Thompson was inconsistent his entire career. He'd have a few passes every game that made you scratch your head and he didn't seem to see the field well. Then, when he got hurt they were exposed for not having a serviceable backup QB.
I think the one thing Mess trusted was Deuce carrying the load and he used him way too often, running and as Thompson's fallback on screen passes. I'm convinced he'd be around if it wasn't for a couple series in the TX game. It was bad.
With all that said, it's not like K-State has this track record of great OCs. Dimmel was a disaster and a lot of the Snyder years were very one dimensional on offense (QB run, 1 RB focused). Finally, there are a lot of K-Staters who still consider this staff D-II and look for any reason to trash them.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.Bob Lutz, The Wichita Eagle, August 30th, 2013
