I was really hoping that YSU would win so both of us could head into next weeks game undefeated. Now I am seriously worried about the game next week. YSU will have something to prove as they won't want to have two conference losses on their resume and after watching our tackling skills, I am worried YSU is going to run all over us next weekend. Also, we haven't been tested yet, YSU has already played the two of the top 4 teams in the conference.

YSU is very one dimensional, I think NDSU will take care of business.

Yeah they would be nasty if they had any kind of QB play.

I think their success is more than just Streveler. Their defence is playing good across the board.

They play with an attitude - a kick-ass attitude.

NDSU needs a little more of that after too many missed tackles yesterday. Thankfully the players were calling themselves out about it, which means they’ll fix it.

Would imagine Bo will try his Jedi mind trick that QB Hunter Wells, the senior who is a better passer, will be able to get back from his recurring shoulder injury (his throwing shoulder).

This is an article from before the Coyote game:

    http://www.vindy.com/news/2017/oct/0...wswatch&mobile

Hunter Wells is doubtful for Saturday’s contest, Pelini said. The senior quarterback re-injured his throwing shoulder — one he originally hurt in Week 2 — last Saturday on the team’s first drive.

Sophomore Nathan Mays will start against the Coyotes and Ricky Davis will back him up.
    Other Vindicator articles on YSU-USD:

Some of it is scheme, some of it was improv. Whatever it was, South Dakota’s Chris Streveler and receiver Shamar Jackson, carved up Youngstown State on Saturday during a 31-28 win Saturday.

Jackson accounted for 229 of Streveler’s 360 passing yards. Coyotes coach Bob Nielson said the plan was in place to pick apart YSU.

Even Wells has never really impressed vs the Bison. He has his good games but never against NDSU. QB play has generally been what holds YSU back. Never really a strong point on Pelini teams either.

Had heard from the Jackrabbit Forum that 16,000 tickets were sold for the SIU game.
Don’t know if that is true, but here is what is reported

    Matt Zimmer @argusmattz
    Attendance: 12,891.
Coyotes drew 10,056, almost catching the Jackrabbits in attendance
Wait ‘til they remodel the configuration of the DakotaDome, now that volleyball & basketball are not played there anymore. Could be catching the Jacks regularly then......

    Also from Zim

    Matt Zimmer @argusmattz
Dallas Goedert suffered a bruised hip in the first quarter. Wanted to return and could've if the game necessitated it. Back next week.
