He actually didn't do a good job last year when his first read wasn't there actually scrambling and making something happen either with his legs or his arm (Elway Young). It was almost like he felt he needed to stay in the pocket rather than just create. I am hoping he makes that jump and becomes a QB that is a scrambler that can make things happen with both his arm and legs. This can be done by moving him outside the pocket and giving him those options.
With the alleged more athletic OL maybe they'll go with some slide protection, allowing Stick to potentially escape the pocket more easily. Also, the new OC used several designed QB runs at MSU last year. We saw some of those in Spring Game.
