Yep - I've lived in Sioux Falls since '09 now and can confirm that it's mostly Hawkeye and Husker country, with a few cyclones thrown in. However, I will say that the Bison presence down here keeps getting more impressive every year. I see a lot more green and yellow around town and I know we actually have organized watch parties through the alumni association which never happened prior to like 2 years ago.

Brookings is like a 45 minute drive from Sioux Falls, how they struggle to get better attendance is beyond me. If I only had 45 minutes to the Fargodome I'd be at every game I could get tickets to.

Nebraska football still rules supreme in South Dakota. Iowa, and maybe Iowa State, also take fans from SDSU and USD.

Thankfully for NDSU, the Gophers haven’t been great since the early 60s, right before Mudra created foundation that the Bison program is today.

Also, I'm going off how many people I know and talk to, how many houses I see around town with a Husker or Hawkeye flag/banner outside their house, etc. and not just the apparel being sold at Scheels. There's hardly any NDSU gear at the Sioux Falls scheels, but I don't consider that representative of the Bison fan base in Sioux Falls.

Not to mention the Sioux Falls Scheels cancelling the event where the 5 championship trophies were supposed to be on display because of cry baby Jackrabbit fans. That still irks me to this day.

I don't want to revive the football needs to be outside conversation but...
I will stand in the snow and cold because I am a fan.
But it is hard to convince people who aren't fans yet, to freeze while watching a game they received free tickets to attend.
It will be interesting to see how many tickets are used. How will you know who received comp tics? If they bother to wear bunny gear, it will still have tags on it. From Walmart. (Yes, I have seen this)
