After the Bison and Bunnies the rest of the MVC gets tricky imo. I think maybe Ill St and USD are better than people think. YSU has good coaching and they will replace their losses quickly. They probably aren't going to drop off much. UNI could be like last year or be a title contender. They're not far from that now (couple offensive pieces away) and they always have guys step up that were preseason unknowns. Should be another interesting year in the Valley. I think choosing this year's preseason top team is more difficult than pretty much any year since 2011.

Pretty much as expected; the NDSU @ SDSU game has huge implications, might even be for homefield in the eventual NCAA mandated playoff matchup. SDSU has a cake non-con, NDSU has two nobody's and goes to Eastern Washington (who lost a ton on offense), so that matchup might not happen before the semi's. Be great if it could be Frisco...but that probably won't be allowed to happen. Need to take care of business each week, but that SDSU game looms large for both teams.

Next four all have huge question marks:
YSU: lose 9 defensive starters (2 NFL DE's) and top two running backs
UNI: bad season but lots of close games, lost best defensive player in FCS
ISUr: lost 4 starting OL including all american C, WR Warrum is gone, all three LB gone
WIU: bring back the whole defense but lose WRs Lenoir and Borsellino

South Dakota and Southern Illinois have opportunities to make leaps this year.
