Default Augustana to discuss move to D1

KWSN Radio in Sioux Falls says Augie is interested in discussing the idea of going D1. The University Of Sioux Falls is not.

They talked about old NCC teams moving up on The Insiders today and then a report came out that they are actually considering it. Wow!

Keith Brake talks about it on Bison 1660.

I think it would be lame to add Augie but this conference needs stability big time but if that would happen, I would still like to see the Summit create a southern division.

There is no way USD and SDSU would want this. There is not enough room for 3 D1 schools in this state. Heck, there isn't enough room for 5 in the Dakotas. To move up they need an invite, I see the Dak 4 blocking them from the Summit.

Aww, your just saying this in an attempt to avoid the coming natural disaster that is this thread's destiny! That is certainly commendable on your part................but it's a lost cause.

I'm tellin' ya.............it's hot, it's unstable, it's the 4th of July.................and this damn thing is gonna blow!!

Well just trying to play devil's advocate but what's worse.

    A) having another Dakota school
    B) watching the Summit dissolve and lose an auto bid to the big dance or having to join the Wac?

Best case the Horizon or MVC expands west and takes us all

It's amazing that both Dakotas have more DI schools than Minnesota. There's plenty of DII (and DIII) schools in my home state, but I'm not sure any of them are legitimately ready to be DI. Of the following list, which one(s) seems most DI ready?

Bemidji State, Concordia University, UM-Duluth, MSU-Mankato, MSU-Moorhead, SW MSU, SCSU, UM-Crookston or Winona State? My guess would be Mankato and possibly SCSU.
    Hail the BISON!!!

None. No more. Not in the Dakotas either. It will only dilute the recruiting pool. That's my two cents.

NMSU, UMKC, hell, even, GCU (if I plug my nose and just look at $$). Summit needs to use this opportunity to move up in quality, not down.
