For us fans mid season transfers suck. Can imagine it's even worse for players and coaches. The current system creates incentives to transfer in season. Would be great to eliminate that. I've heard the justification that coaches can leave whenever they want so why shouldn't students be allowed to. That excuse I don't feel justifies such a disruptive system.

Sproles situation, while still transferring in season, I see a bit different than the latest group. He at least finished his degree. Would have preferred he transfer before the beginning of this season though. Better when he did than right before the playoffs, although that was due more to his situation as a grad transfer and nothing altruistic on his part.

Sproles is a self promoter so I can see how that rubs some the wrong way. He was very active in the community which should be recognized even by those who's dislike of him is mainly due to political differences of opinion, you know who you are.

It's gross he transferred to JMU for us fans due to their recent history playing NDSU. He absolutely went there as it's an FBS offer and that's what he was looking for. But seriously, oh well. At least he won't be playing for a conference opponent like UNI.

I'm mostly with you on this. I have always supported the guys who come to NDSU, graduate and then transfer. Unfortunately, the new Portal system requires guys to now leave before the season is concluded if they want to find a descent program. It sucks, but it is what it is I guess.
