Still sets up NDSU for a lawsuit. Better to let the contract expire.

Just look at what Iowa went through by firing a female employee. Think NDSU has a million+ dollars to cover this type of lawsuit? Of course not, and hence why they did not fire a female employee in the past whose behavior would have her canned had she been a man.

I don't know and really don't care. Its kind of a joke to announce a year early you will not be renewing a coaches contract but are going to have them coach. You either let them coach it out or end it. You either continue to set the program back further or get put in a awkward situation if the team somehow puts something together. Again, it would never happen in a men's sport here. Don't announce the decision to cut ties unless your ready to do it. We go to donors all the time when something is needed on the men's side.

That's because a man cannot win a lawsuit for wrongful termination due to gender.

Taylor was pretty patient with Bohl after the entrance into the MVFC. First two years went from bad to worse. Third year, the potential came to fruition. Therefore, I believe a woman coach has to at least be given three years before being fired is even considered, or else they could use this scenario as proof of wrongful termination due gender. Hopefully, contracts are not longer than that either.

As patient as he was he would have known better to never announce the season prior that they were going to let him coach the final year and not renew his contract after that season was up. They would have either cut ties or just let him coach out his contract.

They wouldn't do that with men's basketball, wrestling, football, likely baseball either.

Craig Bohl has a winning track record and the idea of airing him was laughable. Kari Thompson has been here since 2011 and has 2 winning seasons and one was with the old coaches players. She's driven the program that was once great into the ground

Your kidding yourself of you don't think NDSU has an insurance policy that would cover a legal settlement/fees

I wouldn't know, and if they did, what amount of punitive damages would an insurance company cover?
