The quality of opponent is enough reason for me to not pack the family up and drive nine hours. I would have done it for a Yale, Harvard, Lehigh type program though. Scheduling Butler for this game was a joke. There, I said it.

If you are driving nine hours, you weren't the intended market for this game. There, I said it.

I'm not so sure about that...I'm sure they tried to schedule a more worthy opponent but we all know this was not an easy task for the athletic department considering the situation NDSU is in and all the other scenarios that went into this.

The problem if you put a big game at Target, you will have upset season ticket holders that want premium games in Fargo.

This game is more about the whole event and reaching out more to the Twin Cities. The opponent doesn't really matter.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

You missed the point. My point had nothing to do with the opponent and everything to do with his distance. Not trying to be a dick, but I guarantee they didn't put one thought into someone 9 hours away by car when booking this game. Their thought was local and untapped alumni in Minneapolis and the region. Nine hours is 2 or 3 states away, just not in the wheelhouse. Would they like them to make the drive? Sure, but that wasn't a solid consideration. Plus, it's a lot easier for people to justify "we aren't packing up and coming to this game" when they have a shitty opponent or "shitty" venue to fall back on. That's all it is...an excuse. If you want to go, great. If not, don't. No one is making you.

Just an FYI, last week I purchased a ticket to Dallas but it was for early March. $ 360 round trip. American nonstop, but that fare is already gone this week.

I asked that when our game was scheduled and was told it belonged in the preposterous statements category. I agree with you, it's totally dumb, but some people on this board apparently think otherwise.

Dumb? For the most part, yes. The only smart excuse I can give is the cheapness of the baseball stadium due to its availability.

The more you think about it, I doubt any team pays to play in them while baseball stadiums will pay teams to play.

Curious.. The end zone seats appear to be done but they aren't selling tickets for them. Are they not selling then because of lack of ticket sales for a weak Bowl game or it's truly not ready yet?

Thanks for saying it. Except for the home thing. You did forget baseball in a FB stadium sucks.
