The world would probably be a much better place if everybody was like Hammersmith (i.e. thoughtful), but, obviously, I'd settle for much less, including from myself.
I would retroactively view it as providing a friend with a strong opinion the opportunity to articulate his reasoning for holding said opinion lol. You did him a favor!

Arguing can be fun. Some people take things a little too personally OR make it too personal. Guys at a bar arguing about Magic v. Bird....usually good. Guys with keyboards arguing about divisive political topics...usually bad.

Guys in person arguing about divisive political topics...much more civil...funny how that works lmaoo.

Well, in my experience, people with keyboards agreeing on politics is usually much worse. The way that nation-states and other actors run PSYOPs is not by disagreeing - it's by providing agreeable feedback until trust is gained and then gradually radicalizing their targets. It works because if you have no real principles as bedrock, you are helpless (and states rights or "government bad" or "liberals are retarded" or "the GOP is fascist" are not principles - they're empty inanities mouthed by people who have led lives so sheltered that they are little more than house pets being trained to perform various tricks to please their masters.)

Cool that you’re acknowledging your position, at least in part re: “empty inanities”. I mean, you’ve consistently used/posted them here. Your BS, flanking and goalpost moving isn’t lost on me. Nor is your “politics are ok on BV, as long as they align with ‘my politics’”.

Also, in your world of seceding states, I’d take the leftovers as being more fundamentally comparable to the bedrock of what is the USA over your main meal.

Also, you continuously contradict yourself in your posts, which is, but maybe shouldn’t be, baffling—>cuz that’s what you and yours do.

And now you’ll retort with something, something “slavery”!!

And, don’t believe everything you think—jussayin’.

Liberals of BV need not respond to my posts. I don’t need to get any more dumb.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
