Grandpa Hammerhead ended up in North Dakota because he heard there were lots of German immigrants here. He emigrated to Canada with his father and two brothers and the brothers followed the tracks to Detroit when their father died in Ontario.
It's OK to not be OK.

They weren't put in camps but I'm pretty sure there was a time they didn't let Irish into the states. Some of my family had to move to Canada first and then north dakota as Canadians eh.

They sure as hell didn't let them off at the train station in Red Wing, MN. They did, however, let them fight for the Union and kill Confederate officers which was nearly as good as good as killing English twats back in the Emerald Isles. Or so I have been told.

Honest to God, I have never seen a Confederate flag without wanting to shoot the bastard waving it and burn everything to the ground within 20 miles of it. Somebody needs to tell those fricking idiots that they are playing with fire. I can't believe that anybody in ND doesn't feel the same way. Liberty and Union, Now and Forever, One and Inseparable!

Why are you so against the southern/confederate guys Tony? Just curious, as I'm thinking they just want to be left alone and retain some independence.....or states rights, so to speak.

Tony is a big govt guy - When I see that flag I think states rights. Founding fathers are rolling over in their graves at how big and intrusive our national govt is.

Considering that they were all revolutionaries. Perhaps they’d be rolling over in their graves at the notion that so many want to keep playing by their rules two and a half centuries later? Just a thought, I don’t know and probably you don’t either.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

I would guess the reason he's so against the "southern/confederate guys" also has to do with rights. But more so the human kind.

That flag represents a people and a past that never valued our core American ideals...to the point that they tried to leave the union. They are NOT patriots in any form.

The way that the people from the south are disconnected from their own shameful history is mind boggling to me. I once had a conversation with a guy in Atlanta about Stone Mountain. He told me that I really ought to go there for the July 4th celebration. Just went on and on about it being a true American celebration etc. I thought he was fucking with me and I laughed pretty hard. When I realized he was serious, the rest of the conversation got really awkward and I left it scratching my head.
    Insert something clever here...
