    My take on all this:

    1) Glad to hear Cain strives for excellence. Mediocrity is for the F'Hawkers.

    2) Van Dellen, who I think passes like Rodgers, will be very good.

    3) Sounds like our defensive backfield has picked up their game and won't be a weakness this year.

Don't be surprised if the 2017 team goes undefeated.

Totally different kids and situation, but you have a great memory. Best of luck to Cain as he transitions into NDSU. Very disciplined kid. Looking for a fresh start. Welcome to NDSU.

No problem with his commenting to himself. By critiquing to himself, he is identifying technique and mentally rehearsing thus improving his game. Looks to be the kind of kid I would love to coach.

Nothing wrong with Cain's perspective. Excited to see Cain emotionally committed to seeing his teammates perform at higher level.

" Our strategy for winning against BISON was simple, we put our WRs and RBs in a 1 on 1 situation with their defense in the backfield.....everybody knows they have some freshman who cannot tackle in a 1 on 1 situation.....Joe Glen"

I really hope Cain can help the team and get better but till I see it on the field I will continue to be cautiously optimistic. Didn't we have a "big time" DE transfer a few years ago from Wisconsin that made it what a week in fall practice?
I'd be worried if our offense was on par. I hope the defense shuts them out in the spring game. We would be in for a really good season

From what I can gather from some of the Illinois fan boards. They didn't think he had any over the top athleticism for the FBS level. Really good hands though, and most posters felt he could be really dominate at the FCS level.

That has been a beef of mine for awhile. The running backs could add 20-30yards a game by lowering their pads going forward instead of trying to juke and jive the D.

I agree, the only rb that lowered his head was king. I also think our rbs need to break more leg/ ankle tackles. Many times last year they were a step or ankle tackle away from taking it to the house but would get tripped up by not much contact. Hopefully they work on that and start breaking those tackles which lead to big gains.

The ankle tackles were killing me last year. It looked like many of our opponents had the rugby ankle tap tackle mastered.

    Hail the BISON!!!
