    NDSU's yellow in RGB: 255 204 0
    Iowa's gold in RGB: 255 205 0
    Difference: not much

    Besides, in English, at least, people often refer to yellow as gold, especially if they are trying to be poetic. However, if "The Yellow and the Green" gets a rewrite, I suppose we better make it "The Pantone 204 and Pantone 343."

    Speaking of Iowa, these guys are all about the "yellow medals."

    Not sure why they (especially Terry) call Gold Medals "yellow," but it cracks me up when they do with their deadly, intense stare.

    So sorry for sharing what I thought was a funny story from my undergrad days regarding colors and marketing. I see this is a deadly serious topic that cannot be treated lightly. On another note, I'll be passing through Urbana/Champaign tomorrow. If I come across the young man I'll ask him about his transfer. There, thread back on track.

    Here are some highlights. Kid looks fast, has great hands, and can run after the catch. Seems like a great fit for a west coast passing game. Seems fearless too and makes catches in double coverage.

    THE YELLOW AND THE GREEN

    Ho! a cheer for Green and Yellow,
    Up with Yellow and the Green;
    They’re the shades that deck our prairies
    Far and wide with glorious sheen,
    Fields of waving green in springtime,
    Golden yellow in the fall—
    How the great high-arching heaven
    Looks and laughs upon it all!

    Here in autumn throng the nations,
    Just to gather in the spoil,
    Throng on freight-cars from the cities,
    Some to feast and some to toil,
    Then the yellow grain flows eastward
    And the yellow gold flows back;
    Barren cities boast their plenty
    And the prairies know no lack.

    Hushed upon the boundless prairies
    Is the bison’s thund’ring tread,
    And the red man passes with him
    On his spoilers’ bounty fed.
    But the Norse, the Celt and Saxon
    With their herd increase, and find
    Mid these fields of green and yellow
    Plenty e’en for all mankind.

    Ho! a cheer for Green and Yellow,
    Up with Yellow and the Green;
    They’re the shades that deck our prairies
    Far and wide with glorious sheen,
    Fields of waving green in springtime,
    Golden yellow in the fall—
    How the great high-arching heaven
    Looks and laughs upon it all!

    Can we all just settle on "golden yellow", stop arguing/debating, and enjoy the weekend?!?!

    Any word on the possible transfer? Was to be here yesterday and I would think part of today as well. Fingers crossed it is good news. I hope they got the Florida guy in front of Gruden while he was here. SIU will not be able to do that.
