Daum still had 17 points. Not intentionally being a homer, but if a #1 seed basically gears their entire defense (including double teams) toward a guy, and he still gets 17, there isn't much hope for the Summit League. 2 first team WCC players guarded him all game. Karnowski is one of the best centers in the nation. I am not aware of a single player in the Summit with the physical abilities of Williams, much less Karnowski. Not just height, but length/size and how they use it.

Biggest difference was Daum's inability to get to the free throw line. Almost 30% of his points this year came from free throws. He wasn't aggressive about making a move to get momentum toward the basket, partly due to to Gonzaga's ability to keep poking the ball so he couldn't get a solid handle on his dribble.

Edit: I would actually be slightly surprised if Daum plays more than 1 more year of college ball.

Gophers would have been better off getting a 7 or even a 10 seed. MTSU is not a 12 seed.

Well we did beat Mr. Daum twice without any all-anything bigs outside of Dex.

SDSU needs to put some talent around that guy. Howell should consider a career in masonry with the amount of bricks he was laying out there today.

Seriously Daum might be the best Summit talent I've seen since George Hill, Rabbits could win a game or two when he is senior if they can just give him a Nate Wolters supporting cast.

Exactly. Daum is pretty unstoppable, but SDSU is definitely beatable.

Howell could be an all conference player next year. He averaged 14.5 ppg shooting over 41% with 7 boards the last 10 games of the year. He is a sophomore as well.

Gophers playing like they have never seen a zone defense before and they have absolutely no shooters.

Big three there for MTSU...Gophers really need to get this thing tied up before Potts comes back.

Yep, both were miss-seeded by the committee.

It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow.
