Technically, the Bison are conference champs if they win Saturday no matter what as they'd clinch at least a share of the title. The #1 seed is confusing to plot out at this point. I'm not sure how the tie breakers will shake out between Omaha, Denver, and Fort Wayne for 3rd through 5th but if Denver or Fort Wayne come out on top of that group then USD is the #1 seed. If Omaha comes out on top of that group then NDSU is the #1 seed.

I'd ask the mods to change the title to #1 seed. I don't want at all to appear like our less educated southern neighbors who thought they won the football conference title "outright." (Yes, i know it pains you SDSU folks but no only did we end you season, but we shared that conference title with you!)

Yes, because if you have the #1 seed, you won the regular season title and thus a guaranteed invite to the NIT, should you not make the NCAA tourney.

Assuming USD & NDSU end up tied for first, if multiple teams are tied for the next best record after USD & NDSU, the tie breaker would be USD & NDSU's record against the collective tied teams and not against the 3 seed.

Again, you can be the #2 seed and win a share of the conference title. We need to be careful in definitions to avoid SDSU crap.
