They aren't bad kids because they get lost on a depth chart at a high major.

Look at Watson. We tried to get him. Commits to Maryland. Graduated early from Illinois. Voted team captain. Honor student. would have filled a position of need. His brother was on our team. We will continue to look at opportunities to improve the team. OH, and he lead the Big Ten in tackles as a junior. It isn't like he played for the gophers for 2 years, played in 8 career games, got one tackle.
IMO, transfers work at other FCS teams because they play dumbed down offenses and defenses. NDSU football is pro style offense and tampa 2 defense which is mentally one of the toughest to learn but is a big reason why we destroy everyone and are on a different level. Our offense resembles the Green Bay Packers more than these lame spread systems that reply on athletes and not a chess mess and out smarting people. You just typically can't learn this stuff at an advanced level in 1 season. You take an 18 year tall and athletic kid, pack weight on him, and have him learn the system over 4 years and you end up with an NFL caliber player.

Tre would have helped at LB right away, he is smart enough to pick up on it. Would have been a great help IMO in a year where we probably need some experienced depth at LB

He also could have stunted the development of a young player. We have super talented guys like Mercadel, Jack Begley, and Beau Polly who mentally are way ahead of any transfer . Not to mention Marlette will be back

Not that it means anything now, but Illinois runs the Tampa-2 like us. Lovie Smith brought it with them him there.

Everyone just relax, all right? Believe me, if there's one thing Ron Burgundy knows, it's women.

no way, he would have been DEPTH, with Experience coming from a very Similar Package. No way a talent and head like him was going to stunt anyones development. Could have been a leader and a teacher having played against some of the best in the world his years at Iliinois. But it doesn't really matter he isn't coming

Well have to agree to disagree. Same reason Desmond Cain, who lit up Ohio State and was a big transfer and uber talented, has taken a full year to get integrated into our system and has caught 5 balls. Has had about the same amount of time to learn as a freshman. Next year, or hopefully in Frisco, he makes a big impact. Fortunately he has 2 years vs 1 year.

Not sure how a player like Tre would aid in development when all the other players know the system and would teach him. He would have added depth and probably played at a high level late in the year.

Name 1 juco during our Championship run who made a huge impact? I can only name a few... Andre Martin maybe. Chad Wilson started year 2. John Pike was depth

Jon Pike had a pick in the 2011 title game

Pike was the ultimate depth but he didn't make a huge impact until half way in year 2. (if he only had 1 year he wouldn't have done much at all) He also made the biggest play of the game vs Georgia Southern making a strip when they were going to score a TD

Really an unfair question since we rarely take any transfer players. By the way King Frazier had the most carries in the 2015 title game 18 for 55 yards and a TD. He had 35% of the carries and 30% of the yards.
