    Default 2017 National Stats

Really early in the season for team stats but, just for fun):

#2 Total Offense: 609.5 ypg (#1 Western Carolina: 630 ypg)
    #1 Rushing Offense: 436.5 ypg
#1 Scoring Offense: 56.0 ppg (tied with the Coyotes)
#12 Passing Efficiency (USD and SDSU are ahead)
#1 Scoring Offense: 56.0 ppg (tied with USD)
#2 Total Defense: 131 ypc (#1 Illinois State: 41.0 ypg)
#3 Rushing Defense: 19.5 ypg (Southern Illinois and Illinois State are #1 and #2, WIU is #4)
#3 Passing Yards Allowed: 111.5 ypg (Illinois State is #1 at 41.0 ypg)
    #2 Passing Eff. Defense: #2 57.19 (#1 Illinois State 41.06)
    #6 Scoring Defense: #6 (10.0) (#1 Illinois State 0)
    #1 First Downs (62)
    #2 First Down Allowed: 14 (#1 Illinois State: 3)
    #1 Time of Possession: 38:36

Four MVFC teams in the top 5 in Rushing Defense
NDSU is near the bottom in penalty stats and not very good in net punting (only 3 punts though which is #1)

Its worth noting that ISU(R) has only played one game so far which I think is skewing thier stats for the moment, since they pretty much crushed butler. Will be interesting to see how things go, going forward.

NDSU's schedule is ridiculously back loaded so by the time they get through the ISUb game (on 10/7) it'll probably be pretty eye popping to see those national ranks.

Then shit gets real: @YSU, WIU, UNI, @SDSU, USD, and @ISUr in 6 consecutive weeks.

I was just saying that last night. When they get to YSU they should be running pretty smoothly.

    Stats as of 9/16 games:

Really early in the season for team stats but, just for fun):

#1 Total Offense: 609.5 ypg (Up from #2)
    #1 Rushing Offense: 436.5 ypg
#1 Scoring Offense: 56.0 ppg (tied with Yale now instead of the Coyotes)
#18 Passing Efficiency (down from #12)
#3 Total Defense: 131 ypc (down from #2, #1 Illinois State: 79.0 ypg)
#3 Rushing Defense: 19.5 ypg (Dartmouth #1, Illinois State is #2, WIU is #4)
#4 Passing Yards Allowed: 111.5 ypg (down from #3, Illinois State is #1 at 72.0 ypg, YSU #3 at 111ypg)
    #2 Passing Eff. Defense: #1 57.18 (Up from #2)
    #5 Scoring Defense: #6 (10.0) (Up from #5, #1 Illinois State 6.5)
#24 First Downs (62) Down from #1 but, of course, everybody above NDSU has played 3 games, not 2.
    #3 First Down Allowed: 14 (down from #2, #1 Dartmouth: 7 - but they've only played 1 game)
#1 Time of Possession: 38:36 (WIU is #2)

#7 Total Offense: 555 ypg (down from #2)
#2 Rushing Offense: 377.7 ypg (down from #1)
    #1 Scoring Offense: 56.0 ppg
    #18 Passing Efficiency (unchanged)
#1 Total Defense: 106.3 ypc (up from #3)
#1 Rushing Defense: 27.7 ypg (up from #3)
#1 Passing Yards Allowed: 78.7 ypg (up from #4)
#1 Passing Eff. Defense: 43.66 (Up from #2)
    #1 Scoring Defense: 6.7 (Up from #5)
    #20 First Downs: 83 (Up from #24)
#1 First Down Allowed: 18 (up from #3)
    #1 Time of Possession: 38:51

No way NDSU keeps all these #1 rankings now that the real season is beginning, but as long as we hold on that #1 scoring defense, we should be OK.

7th weakest schedule to date according to Sagarin so, yeah, don’t expect to hang on to those positions.

This is purple but if coach Klieman did not want to get reps for all the 2 3 and 4 in some capacity NDSU easiliy could be # 1 in a lot of those categories.
