It certainly has really bad optics for a (former) team captain... but I think the timing of the spring season has a lot to do with it. If he intends to transfer and waits until after the season is over (which could be mid-May) how many less schools are interested at that point?

Or maybe NDSU is about to pull the plug on the season as many on here seem to want and this is just the tip of the transfer iceberg.

Shitty timing on his part and not a great look to show any top G5 or P5 school looking at the portal. Is he on track to graduate this Spring/Summer? I think Bisonville and Entz have been pretty supportive of guys who come here, do what they have been asked to do, graduate, and then grad transfer for a shot at "FBS glory". Quitting on your team with a few games left as a Senior to prep yourself for the portal is weak sauce. I hope he reevaluates the situation.

WTF??? This transfer shit is going to be the downfall of college sports. Hard to keep fans interested if kids and coaches leave on every whim. Disgusting!

Can we all just admit that playing in the spring was a bad idea? I don't mean for NDSU, I mean for the FCS. Playoff teams are going to still be beat up come fall. Other teams are losings players left and right. The fallout from this could last for half a decade.

Lakes was right. We should have played whoever would play us last fall while the spotlight was there and then planned for fall of '21.

I don't think this stupid spring season is the cause of a lot of this but I was always in the camp for playing as many games last fall and skipping this fiasco from the beginning.

Possibly but it just looks bad to the outside world.

Being able to transfer without sitting out a year started most of the transfers going on now.
