    Default AFCA Proposals

    1) Early signing period in December
    2) A new eligibility 5 for 4 model. If an athlete plays less than four games in a season, they can redshirt.
    3) A 10th paid assistant coach

#2 is a game changer. But all are great.

Brad Ambrosius would be back one more year under those rules.

The extra coach would only be for FBS if in reading it correctly

I think he only played in 4 games as a true freshman

If the playoffs count and I am looking at the right chart it was 8. And if the rule says "less than four games in a season" he would not have been eligible.

The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

#2, you could have freshmen play in playoffs and they would still have 4 years left...wow

Yeah, gives coaches lot of choices, hope they are all good choices.
With the long seasons, especially FCS playoffs, can see this coming into
use. Injuries, depth, gaining playoff big game experience etc......

Think of that Richmond QB who gave up his redshirt when the Spiders'
starter was injured going into the playoffs. I would guess he only played
3 games, so someone like him would not be penalized a whole redshirt
season for having helped out the team.

If the Power 5 actually gets to an 8 team playoff, they would have more need for the depth.

#2 would be a huge can of worms IMO. I don't see that one getting legs. 4 games is too many maybe if they leave it at 3. Then you could get some kids into OOC games their first year to get their feet wet so to speak.

See post #1---less than four games is the proposal.
