Yeah, five times the money per year is not a good enough incentive for an FCS coach to move up to a small BCS conference, really? HMMM 7.5M over the next five years, Hmmm
This wasn't the original contract that he left NDSU for, this is the extension. His original contract was in the $700k range. It took him the 8 win season of last year to get the $1.4 million deal. Going into last season at Wyoming he was on the hot seat.

Miles when he left NDSU went from $150k year gig to $400K, then million plus at Nebraska. No one from NDSU has left for a 7 figure salary. There is an in between step that may or not work out.

The deal maker was the private jet because hes a pilot.
Use of a jet... I highly doubt he has the licensure to fly said jet

not a chance, it takes many hours in the air, and any Jet requires 2 certified pilots, so you are correct

I kind of doubt Bohl is even certified in a Turboprop

There are plenty of private jets that can be flown single pilot.

Insurance rates for that tends to suck balls. Its also not terribly hard to get type rated in a jet, assuming you already have a multi-engine rating and an instrument rating.

The former is why most flight departments require Part 135 rules. Its a lot easier on the insurance. Besides, if you have a flight department, why would you fly yourself if you don't have to?

it isn't that easy to obtain for a head coach of a university to find the flight time, Id bet my left nut Craig Bohl is not a certified solo jet pilot. I know a few Pilots and they are young still trying to get that but the time and investment it takes is not easy if you are not in some sort of instructional program. but this doesn't really matter anyway in the grand scheme of this thread, ill stop now

Pretty sure you can fly this one by yourself. Made right up in Duluth, MN too! https://cirrusaircraft.com/aircraft/vision-jet/

Taking a lesson from the University of Tennessee on how not to announce a new head coach!
