How many next year? I think only 22 total right? Only 6-7 starters I believe.

Stick doesn't count as boho tried to flip him and klieman closed the door thus he is a klieman recruit

Bohl found the guy and sold him on NDSU.

The head coach doesn't recruit every single player by himself. CK has been recruiting for NDSU for 5 years.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

you know this as fact?? Follow recruiting and you will see the kids form relationships with the Asst coaches first, then the HC ultimately gives the go ahead on the offer yes, but to say the HC finds all the kids is just untrue

Bohl was actually pretty noble and honored his contact provision and didn't target our verbals when he probably could have if he wanted to be a dick

However everyone else who hadn't verballed was taegeted

I don't think you have an understanding on how recruiting typically works, which is how it worked under Bohl. The head coach is the CEO. He provides direction on where to recruit and what type of player to recruit. Beyond that, they are a PR guy. Head coaches are "successful" at recruiting because they have good vision on where to recruit, what type of players to target and, most importantly, who they have as assistants to target the recruit.

Bohl, as most coaches, assigned his assistants to regions. The assistants scouted the film and contacted the player. In the case of Klieman, as an assistant he had Iowa/Missouri and Nebraska. It was Klieman, not Bohl, who recruited Stick. Sure Bohl met him and talked to him, but it was the Klieman who developed the relationship and got Easton to come to NDSU. As an actual recruiter, Klieman was awesome. He brought in many talented players to NDSU.

Now that Klieman is a head coach, he has the responsibility of being the figure head in determining where to recruit, the type of players to target and which coaches to assign to different regions. He, for the most part, is doing it exactly like Bohl.

Bohl's success as a recruiter was largely based on his ability to target Minnesota kids when Brewster had directed his staff to focus on areas in the south. If Bohl were such a great recruiter, he would be crushing NDSU on head to head recruits. He isn't.

Klieman has a lot of obstacles in front of him that Bohl didn't. When NDSU offers a kid now, you have a lot of schools offering the player. Schools are perceiving an NDSU offer to mean they probably should get an FBS offer. That wasnr happening before. Minnesota has stepped up their game and haven't ignored home grown talent. It will continue to get worse for us with PJ as coach. Other FCS schools have stepped up their game. In the past, NDSU was by far and away the most impressive FCS school to recruit the upper Midwest. Now you have schools like SDSU (new stadium, new indoor practice facility), UND (new practice facilities) which can match NDSU. Bohl had his own personal playground in Minnesota. He had the ability to grab almost anyone outside of the elite of the elite. Things are tougher now. That doesn't mean Klieman is worse than Bohl if he doesn't manage to bring in the same talent. IMO those days are over.
