They dont want to have to travel to St. Louis for the conference tourney, that has to be the only reason..Id much rather go to ST. Louis than Sioux Falls, I would like to see the Summit tourney in Minneapolis or even Denver, much more fun to visit with shopping, ease of getting to, and Nightlife.

Not a real great weekend vacation to go to SF

As would I, as it is now SF isn't really a weekend vacation. Going to the SLT involves taking Monday and Tuesday off of work, it is setup to pretty much be horrible for any traveling fan.

If the tournament was a weekend in Minneapolis, I would go every year.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

If the Sunmit Tournament was in Fargo, I would be opposed to moving too. The have the sweetest deal in the nation and will make the tournament at least 50% of the time with all home games whether they finish first or last. Being the tournament is mid week, it's harder for other teams to travel in blizzard season, plus 4-5 days of lodging and missed work makes it tough on anyone, except USD

I don't think any college sports team or program will ever "Own" Chicago. The city doesn't care enough about college sports.
Some say it's a backward place. Narrow minds on a narrow way, but I make it a point to say. That that's where I come from.

Well, I've been known to be drunk a lot and post stupid stuff. Not sure if I was when I posted that, but it certainly was stupid.

Actually, it's a huge college sports town, it's just that one team cannot own it by themselves. It's a huge Big Ten town and there are tons of Big Ten grads there and they band together and cheer for their own schools. Chicago could never belong entirely to one team because of that.

That's kinda my point. There are a ton of transplants living there, and they all go to their bars to watch their games. You'll find 10 Michigan or Ohio State bars for every 1 Illinois bar. Hell, I can think of multiple Ole Miss bars off the top of my head, but I don't know of a single Northwestern bar in the city. Plus there is no media coverage for college sports in town. People complain about Gopher coverage here on the Fan but they easily get 10x what Northwestern or UoI or Notre Dame do on the Score.

DePaul is a nuisance at best to anyone living in that part of town and they play men's bball 15+ miles from campus, but people know its there. The only reason I even knew that Loyola was in the area when I lived there was I knew someone in the medical school. Until then, I thought the only two Loyola's were in LA and Baltimore.

    If you're a Chicago local you're a pro fan, and if you're a transplant you're a fan of your alma mater, and I don't think that's changing.

Weak MVC team couldn't even get to the Championship game.

Seriously though, hell of a run for Loyola. Imagine if that was NDSU ...wow.
