As a single team it could have bankrupted them. As a group of 4 Dakota schools, it would have been amazing because of the travel partners and built in rivals that are basically guaranteed sellouts.

Don't add Ndsu because it would make the conference too football orientated? They apparently didn't realize Illinois State and Southern Illinois recently spent big bucks to upgrade their football facilities. As did Misery State.

In the same breath they like Omaha even though they play in a hockey arena which happens to be a massive cash drain sport.

Sounds like some people hope the football conference goes to shit before basketball takes one.

Don't add Ndsu because it would make the conference too football orientated? They apparently didn't realize Illinois State and Southern Illinois recently spent big bucks to upgrade their football facilities. As did Misery State.

UNI, MSU, ISU, ISU, SIU allow the non FB schools to run the show so they don't upset the apple cart so to say, it will eventually be a very bad decision for them as the Private BBall only schools pipe dream of the MVC becoming some sort of A-10 clone isn't happening and those same schools are not good enough to join an A-10 type league. They have very inflated images of themselves it appears and the FB schools play along with stupid logic that is holding them back. That's my opinion on this whole stupid idea, and if the privates want just BBall schools in the MVC do it, break away, because I would bet anything a All sports league consisting of the State schools in the MVFC all together would be way stronger than Drake, Bradley, Valpo, Omaha, Evansville, Murray etc.. in the long run. Plus that groupf of FB schools would together would be a good group if a split came for being a well rounded 2nd level conference.

Yep. Not only is their budget 2 million less, they depend on the teet of the state more as they get over half their money from the state. We're at about 35%
