133 is absolutely stacked at this tourney. Other classes tough as well. Should be fun.

We will have to see if Clark is back in the lineup by Midlands but even without him 133 is pretty deep. I will say that 125, 165 and 197 are pretty deep as well.

In theopenmat's preview, they said Rodriguez isn't registered which is verrrrrrrrrrrry disappointing. With how weak the schedule is in the second semester, he's not going to be challenged until the big 12 tournament (maybe he gets a tough matchup at VA duals). The article did say we have 15 entries and Sykora better be one. He needs all the matches he can get after pretty much not wrestling the first semester.

Throwing Tsirtsis into the 157 pound mix throws a huge wrench into that field. I liked Clay's chance to get by Berger to get to the finals, but now I imagine he'll be seeded behind Tsirtsis and have to go through Heffernan (and then probably Kemerer) who is a very tough matchup.

They also said Clark is out at 133.

Anybody know how we can watch the tournament?

Sorry for the excessive posts, but the list of NDSU wrestlers is: Bianchi, Sykora, Nein, Nathan Smith, Friedman, Gliva, Ream, Clingenpeel, Fogarty, Nielson, Urbach (@ 174), McNutt, Paxton, Eaton, and Stibral.

Very disappointed to not see Tynan, as this is a perfect opportunity to match up against many borderline top 20 guys and secure an AQ spot at HWT. With how well he's been wrestling, it could've improved his chances at getting a Wildcard at the end of the year if he needs it.

How come Rodriguez and Tynan sat this one out?

I have no idea. Rodriguez and Lambert have had some really good battles and Josh also gave Gilman all he could handle in their last meeting. Hopefully Coach Garnett will mention it in the following days. Any idea where Holler is for the Jacks?

I'm guessing Nielson got banged up warming up, since he was still in the brackets and NDSU didn't replace him with Urbach among their scoring wrestlers.

I've been told Holler is out with a concussion. Strange that two of NDSU's best just aren't in the lineup during the best tourney of the year.

That's correct on Nielsen. Was a last minute decision to hold him out especially with our duals coming up this weekend. As for Tynan and Rodriguez those were coaches decisions to hold them back from the tournament. Biggest event of the year thus far, sure. However those tournaments in March are even bigger and we have to be smart with our guys and do whats best for them and the program. That means not forcing them into competition when we need to make sure their health is preserved. I'm sure we would have some unhappy fans/supporters had we forced them in when they are not 100% ready and things went wrong at Midlands correct? Health of the student athlete comes first. I would not worry about those guys missing midlands. I would however be concerned with making sure they are primed and ready to go come Big XII tournament time. Go Bison and Happy New Year to all.
