For those that don't know, Josh will be wrestling in Kiev, Ukraine this weekend at 57kg.

He has trained with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club (although the USAWrestling press release has him representing NDSU, he is still listed on the NLWC site as a Resident Athlete), so I'm very eager to see the progress he has made.

I think he has enough speed and skill to succeed on the international level, the key is to get him to let it fly and not worry about getting scored on. Hopefully coaches McKnight and Sanderson have helped him get to a new level.

    Josh Rodriguez doing work!

Beat #15 in the world in his first match, beat a Russian nationals Bronze medalist, and wrestles in the semis against reigning European Champ who is also #4 in the world!

Josh lost in the semifinals to the #4 wrestler in the world 6-3. He's opened some eyes with his tournament thus far. Hopefully he can get that first international medal and get that Bronze!

Josh lost his bronze medal bout losing 3-1 to No.13 Afghan Khashalov. Really good tournament for Josh. Another tournament like that and he'll be in the worldwide top 20 at 57 kilos.

The American ladder at 57 kilos is pretty weak right now, with many guys bumping up to 61 kilos with the added weight classes. With continued improvement, Josh should be right in the mix later this year at World Team Trials. I imagine he'll have to fend off some current NCAA stars and World silver medalist Thomas Gilman.

He and Riley Lefever both impressed for the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club despite not being very heralded.

Josh was selected to represent the US at beat the streets vs Cuba in NYC.

He'll take on an U23 World champion, who just knocked off reigning US world silver medalist Thomas Gilman last weekend.

It should be a great test for Josh.
