What is the penalty for a positive drug test?

The penalty for a positive test for a performance-enhancing drug (PED) is strict and automatic: student-athletes lose one full year of eligibility for the first offense (25 percent of their total eligibility) and are withheld from competition for 365 days from the date of the test. A second positive test for a PED results in the loss of all remaining eligibility.

The penalty for a positive test for a substance in the street drug class is withholding from competition for 50% of the season in all sports in which the student-athlete participates. A second positive test for a street drug results in the loss of a year of eligibility and withholding from participation for 365 days from the test.

Ive heard the test was after the JSU game.
Wonder if the 50% can span over seasons or just this one

My memory might be off, but didn't Sigers come back hot after the Montana State game? I think had NDSU beat EWU, he wouldn't have been able to play the next week. He ended up leaving the team, so I don't know what would have happened the next year had he stuck around.

"Unknown Substance" = FCS Championship Trophy.

Most teams don't know what it is or how to handle it. Its natural for them to be scared and cautious of what this is when around it.

From the Jax State game. If you fail the test initially, they send it back to the lab for further confirmation. That's why the delay. Theoretically you could have played in the Quarterfinal game awaiting second result which appears to be the case at Youngstown St. Penalties carry over into next year most definitely

The DB that also came from Nebraska (Alexander) was suspended a year while at NE (never confirmed but everyone on their boards suspected PEDS)- he is their starting safety-
