I'll play a little devil's advocate on the 3rd down issue.

    2016----43%
    2015----47%
    2014----48%
    2013----55%
    2012----51%
    2011----43%

But the USD fans in Section 23 cheered loudly for their offense!

The time of possession favored USD by 10 minutes which was unusual.

If you want to sit during the game do it on your couch at home.

We just aren't use to gashing teams with so many big plays. In this case I'll gladly take losing the TOP battle...especially since most of those big plays were runs

We simply scored too fast and had a defensive TD

Not really for the way USD played defense. USD had the entire defense near the line of scrimmage. It was all or bust on every play when NDSU was on offense. A lot of big plays shortened the Bison's TOP. All of our scoring drives totaled something like 425 yards and 14 minutes. 6 drives for a little over 2 minutes each and each one eating up over 70 some yards on average. When we weren't scoring, we were going 3 and out for the most part and we only had 51 plays. It was unusual in regards to we aren't used to that many home run plays in a football game, but not unusual to lose the TOP part of the game the way USD chose to defend the Bison.

yeah, usually when you are getting busted on big plays you loosen up, like CK said, they never did.

Pick 6 by NDSU and a couple of quick scores is what did it.
