Wow. Don't know him, but thought he would have picked up an offer to play soccer. He's not just a kid that played soccer and decided to play football, but rather a very good soccer player.

    Great addition to the Herd!

Story from back in September about playing both sports-

    Welcome Jake!

Reinholz pulled double duty the last couple of years, racking up a state record 43 goals (soccer)
while also kicking field goals and extra points for the Deacons.
Reinholz was the ND Senior Player of the Year in soccer, 1st team all-State.

This is not 'Nam. This is Bisonville. There are rules here.

More today on Jake Reinholz from Kolpack:

"It was a pretty tough decision," Reinholz said. "I had a few options between football and soccer."

In soccer, that included Division II schools in Missouri and Colorado. It was always his sport growing up, since he was 4 years old. But the fit with NDSU was both football and an engineering major, two things the school excels at.

"Academics was my No. 1 priority," he said.

He set the state record for field goals per a source. His long FG was lower to mid 40 yards.

Anyone who has watched Twins' baseball over the years has heard Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven say
"The pitcher is the best athlete on the team......"

Well, maybe we can start saying the kicker is the "best athlete on the team" for Bison football.
Jake Reinholz with 26 points to lead Shanley to the ND State Class A basketball tournament.
They beat GF Red River 76-69 in a state qualifying game. Reinholz listed at 6' 4" in the article.
Was named to the All-EDC team. This is on top of being ND soccer's state player of the year!
